Patch 0.20.0 has gone live on the Island! This update contains a huge amount of changes and bug fixes and a big thanks goes out to everyone who reports bugs for us to find and fix!
Plobby Updates
We’ve made some updates to the plobby system, introducing a new feature to save your settings, adding settings to customize Parkour Warrior Survivor, and new settings to every game, totaling up to 16 new settings (some working in multiple games)!
- The plobby menu has two new buttons for importing and exporting settings.
- Pressing
Export Settings
will upload your current settings and give you back a small code that represents them. You can export at most 10 codes per day. - Pressing
Import Settings
will ask you to type in a code, which will import those settings.
- Pressing
- Plobbies will now award a small amount of Island XP based solely on playtime. This is different to how games normally award XP. There is a daily limit on this XP and statistics and quests are still not tracked in plobbies.
We've also added a whole bunch of brand new plobby settings!
These settings are shared between multiple games.
- Round Duration (between 30s and 20min)
- Sets the duration of a round.
- Available for Hole in the Wall, TGTTOS, Rocket Spleef Rush, Parkour Warrior Survivor and Battle Box.
- Modify Item Tier (between -2 and +3)
- Increases or decreases the material tier (e.g. Leather to Gold and so on) of all items in chests/equipment following and multiplies all stackable items by 2^tier.
- Available for Sky Battle and Battle Box.
- Modify Player Health (between 5% and 200%)
- Increases or decreases the amount of hearts each player has.
- Available for Sky Battle and Battle Box.
Dynaball
- Spawn TNT Crates (defaults to on)
- Allows configuring whether TNT crates drop.
- TNT (Knockback) Strength (defaults to 25%, between 1% and 300%)
- Modifies the amount of knockback dealt by TNT.
- Allow Building (defaults to on)
- Allows toggling off the ability to build.
Hole in the Wall
- Remove Trap Limits (defaults to off)
- Allows traps to be used on maps where they are normally disabled in addition to removing any trap selection limits. This does not allow using any traps that are incompatible.
- Game Speed (between 50% and 500%)
- Speeds up the rate by which the platform shrinks, wall difficulty increases and wall speed increases. Does not affect the round duration.
Parkour Warrior: Survivor
- Elimination Threshold Scaling (defaults to on)
- Scales leap requirements with the player count.
- Difficulty Multiplier (between 20% and 300%)
- Scales the difficulty of the included obstacles.
- Map Seed (defaults to blank)
- Sets a seed to use when generating the map. Blank means random. Generations will be identical when using the same seed and difficulty multiplier only until the next monthly rotation happens.
Rocket Spleef Rush
- Updraft Quantity (defaults to 2, between 0 and 3)
- Sets the amount of Updrafts each player receives.
- Map Movement Speed (between 50% and 300%)
- Scales the speed by which new Islands are generated.
Sky Battle
- Border Speed (between 1% and 500%)
- Scales the duration of the round and the speed of all borders.
- Enable Roof and/or Floor Borders (defaults to on)
- Allows disabling the roof and/or floor borders.
TGTTOS
- Remove Modifier Limits (defaults to off)
- Allows modifiers to be used on maps where they are normally disabled as well as repeated. This does not allow using any modifiers on incompatible maps (e.g. Crumbling Blocks on non-building maps and TNT Time on indoors maps or maps without a defined explodable area).
- Most maps have a fairly large number of disabled modifiers, so this setting will give you a lot more freedom.
General Changes
Rocket Spleef Rush
- We have made some adjustments to the power of PvP elements in the game to lower their effectiveness. This should bring more importance to movement skills.
- Melee knockback reduced by 33%.
- Rocket elytra damage reduced by 18%.
- Melee elytra damage reduced by 20%.
- Struck duration reduced from 1 seconds to 0.8 seconds.
- After 5 minutes of overtime the islands will now start decaying.
- Added better on-screen visuals whenever an updraft is about to be removed.
- Kill credit is now tracked whenever you destroy blocks nearby another player. Direct hits and knockback are still prioritised for kill credit.
Battle Box
- Added two new maps; Trenches and Graffiti.
- Fixed an issue where players were not teleported to another match after yours has finished.
- Fixed an issue where rejoining games did not work correctly.
Sky Battle
- Added a new map; Tropical.
- Added back the missing border shrink sound.
Dynaball
- The action bar now shows which projectile will be shot from your inventory next.
- Rocket Cannon no longer deals knockback to teammates.
- Powder Bombs now award spleefing kill credit.
- Unstable Ammo now builds up slower and is extended when you shoot a non-TNT projectile, break a crate, are stickied, or are knocked back. Not all these sources extend the timer the same.
- Hogging a large amount of the available TNT now results in a player receiving fewer TNT projectiles overall.
- Fixed an issue where mining blocks didn’t work despite holding left click.
- Fixed an issue where players could be teleported to a spectator.
- Fixed an issue where TNT Drop did not award kill credit.
- Fixed an issue where concrete powder sometimes wouldn’t be affected by gravity at the bottom of the map.
- Fixed an issue with Unstable Ammo title flickering.
- Fixed an issue where custom blocks would sometimes turn into note blocks when near an explosion.
Hole in the Wall
- 10 legacy traps that are normally disabled in all maps are now available to manually enable in plobby settings.
- Fixed an issue where trap selection didn’t work correctly when disabling traps in plobbies. If only a few traps are enabled they should now properly show up in-game.
TGTTOS
- Post-round recap now includes milliseconds in the round time so it’s easier to compare speedrun times.
- Fixed an issue where scoreboard didn’t always update when a new round started.
General Changes
- With this update, 1.21.1 is now the recommended version to play MCC Island on. We intend to better support newer versions so players can update without having a worse experience, allowing us to drop support for older versions gradually as players naturally update. If you want to know more about how to update, be sure to check out our support article on updating.
- We've made some improvements to kill credit detection.
- Players are now awarded credit for spleefing other players. You are only given credit for destroying the block the other player was supported by. This has a custom death message.
- Players are now awarded credit for reeling in players with fishing rods. This has a custom death message.
- Death messages will now credit the last non-generic damage cause over fall damage or void damage. For example, fishing someone off a tower will have a message about the fishing rod instead of the fall damage.
- The navigator now shows a star around the Plobby Browser if any public plobbies are being hosted.
- The scoreboard now longer shows the red numbers and has been made much thinner in many places.
- Added a team elimination noise when other teams are eliminated.
- Added a shift-click action to reset individual settings in the settings menu.
- Inventory layout saving now remembers how much of a stack was in a certain slot. So, it will now place back items the same way if they were spread between multiple slots.
- We've made a few changes to emojis:
- Emojis now work in DMs.
- Added a fire emoji.
- Added some more short emojis such as :') and 8).
- We also fixed an issue that would prevent short emojis like :D and :) from being translated into emojis, regardless of what you have the setting set to.
- We've made a few changes to Dynaball.
