0.3.0 was a major patch, which brought with it new maps, game adjustments and hub changes.
Patch Notes
Game Update 0.3.0 has just landed and it's an exciting one! We've got new maps and have made general game improvements across all four games.
Up first - the maps!
Sky Battle - Grasslands
You’ve played Celestial, a map that forces you upwards, how about the other direction? Grasslands is a fast-paced map with a centre lower than your starting island!
Make your way through grassy islands and use haybales strewn across the map to break your fall as you traverse into the centre and fight it out in this Sky Battle map.
Unlike other Sky Battle maps there is a purple chest in the spawn island alongside the standard 4 starting chests.
Hole in the Wall - Highrise
Live the city life, well, try your best to as you jump and weave through slime walls in Highrise. The platform here takes a new shape, with more pesky holes to fall down so watch your step!
Hub
- Cosmetics are no longer given by default (unless they’re cosmetics obtained by making a purchase on the webstore). Instead, “free” cosmetics can be found around the hub given by new vendors. Players that logged into the server before this patch and have already claimed default cosmetics will still have them and will not need to claim them from vendors
- Certain NPCs now give one-time gifts. Explore the hub and find the following:
- Tellers at The Coin Sink will give players a free Medium Currency Pouch to welcome them to the server.
- The Robber’s Guild has a Golden Customization Kit for players as thanks for continuing to ignore their activities.
- Faction Greeters each give a crafting component for their corresponding faction’s Chroma Frameworks to encourage players to wear their colours.
- A new hidden vendor meditates at the top of an isolated shrine. Find her, and she will permit you to purchase her halo.
- Jeffrey Shavers now sells a few new hairstyles for players to change up their appearance! A friend of his, a venerable Beard Guru might also be found somewhere else on the island with her own hair accessories.
- Curly hair is now a hairstyle that must be purchased. Bun, Ponytail, and Undercut hairstyles replace it as default.
- Requests for hot dogs to be sold in the Hub have been heard! Frank now sells the hot dog accessory! Additionally, burgers can be bought from Burgers But Fast and the ever-elusive Burger Head might be purchased from them as well!
- These items have been removed from Gourmet Living crates as they will always be available to purchase with coins at these locations.
General
- The player icon on the boss bar and scoreboard on Sky Battle and Battle Box are now coloured based on the team colour.
- Coin, Gem, and Champion score gain animations now update the values in the action bar in real time.
- Fixed the party invite message to make it in sync with all other invite messages.
- Creepers and TNT now correctly deal damage even after the player that spawned them has died.
- Players get a bonus
+12+25 Game Tokens for the first 3 games of every type they play each day.- This means that just by completing 3 of every game on the server, you will get at least 75 tokens for every game every day..! Those legendary cosmetics are still tough to get, but maybe they’re a little more possible now for the average player.
Sky Battle and Battle Box
- Offhand Behaviour
- Fixed a bug where orbs and sparks would fire at the same time as your offhanded item.
- Health Counter
- The health value displayed above player names is now always rounded upwards.
Minecraft actually tracks health in decimal, but the game displays them in half and full hearts. Previously, the health counter was rounded to the nearest 0.5, which meant that you could see a player with 2.0 health, but the player’s true health could be up to 0.24 more than it is displaying.
With this new change if you see a player with 2.0 health you can be sure that 2.0 dmg will be enough to eliminate them.
- The health value displayed above player names is now always rounded upwards.
- Game Tokens are given through criteria identical to faction XP: tokens are given by individual placement with a bonus for every kill.
Sky Battle
- Starting Armor
- All players now start with leather leggings and boots, this will help give better initial protection, especially against axes.
- Loot Adjustments
- The Wooden Sword with Knockback I has been changed to Stone Sword with knockback I.
- Map Adjustments
- Red House
- The distance between all islands has been increased by around 4 blocks.
- Houses closer to the centre of the map have been given more structure at their base to give more options for teams not on the roofs.
- Let some air in - we’ve opened more of the windows!
- Candy Land
- In the mid-ring berries on top of the doughnut have been flattened and platforms have been widened at the rings cupcake towers.
- Like Celestial, Candy Land now has a floor border that will rise (This border is very lenient and will only hinder players that are constructing very low down.)
- Celestial
- The top barrier has been lowered however the roof border has also been removed.
- Red House
- Game Tokens are given through criteria identical to faction XP: tokens are given by individual placement with a bonus for every kill.
Battle Box
- Capture point unlock
- The capture point is now locked for the first 10 seconds of a round. Concrete cannot be broken until this time expires.
- While the possibility of rushing the point on event is cool, on Island having a team with comms rush the point against a team with no comms feels unfair.
- Map Adjustments
- Paint Factory
- Remove unnecessary cover in the capture point area to make it more open.
- Raised capture point to provide better cover.
- Expanded the lower defence
- Mine
- Closed up the centre of the upper tunnels, which are accessible using a spark of levitation. This defines them as more defensive areas for the team spawns rather than controlling mid.
- Paint Factory
- Tweaked which team colours show up in Battle Box to avoid match-ups between similar colours.
TGTTOS
- Modifier Adjustments
- TNT Time
- Disabled on beehive
- One Life
- After dying on the One Life modifier you now spawn at a separate mid-air spawn point so it’s clear that you died.
- Red Light Green Light
- Disabled on Cliffs, Siege and Badlands.
- Increased overall time when green.
- TNT Time
- Game Tokens are given through criteria similar to faction XP: tokens are given by individual placement at the end of each round. Bonus tokens are awarded each round for larger lobby sizes and for successfully completing all 3 rounds.
HITW
- New map
- Highrise
- Wall sets and New platform shapes
- Wall sets are now tied to specific map
- Each map now has it’s own platform shape. The platform is shaped similarly to the wall set.
- Classic → Classic walls and Classic platform
- Beach → Snakey walls and Snakey platform
- Highrise → Hole punched walls and Holey platform
- Trap adjustments
- Matrix - Projectiles now move very slow, allowing you to dodge them.
- Revenge - Reduced slimes from 14 to 8
- Hoglin - Reduced hoglins from 5 to 4
- Sandfall - Reduced rate of fall by 20%
- Game Tokens are given through criteria identical to faction XP: tokens are given by individual placement with a bonus for larger lobbies. Players have been receiving between 6-13 tokens per game; this range will now jump from 1-26 tokens based on placement.
