Patch 0.30.3
More actions
Patch 0.30.3 was a minor patch, which introduced a new Battle Box Arena map, and a bunch of balancing changes for the game.
Battle Box Arena
New map: Fusion Core
A new map focused on long ranged engagements and controlling high ground. Keep an eye on the point and make sure you are able to react to captures. The sides of the map can be used for flanking opportunities.
This map will be swapping with Spaceship Unboxed which will return to the map pool in the near future. As new maps come to arena the total maps in rotation will always remain as 8. Every two weeks one map will swap with another, when this occurs it also swaps 4 kits from the previous set of 50 in the game, this creates a new meta for kit breaking for the following 2 weeks. We need to increase the map count to make room for this, so you can expect a bunch of new maps for arena releasing in the coming months.
Kit adjustments
- Standard Gadgeteer - Buff This kit is rarely picked as a kit break currently so we’re giving it a dagger to give some melee power to the kit. The flexibility of having 3 potions last the entire round is exciting but could be too powerful so we will be keeping an eye on how this kit performs and adjust if needed.
- Bastion Ranger - Buff This kit is slightly underperforming, to give it more power we are increasing it’s arrow count from 8 to 10.
- Opportune Ranger - Buff This kit is slightly underperforming, to give it more potential at seizing an opportunity we are improving it’s debuff power by changing the Quick Timed Orb from Hovering to Void Harming.
- Standard Baller - Buff This kit is slightly underperforming, to give it more agency we are swapping the shortbow for a bow.
- Battle Healer - Nerf Battle Healer is the strongest healer kit currently, we want to keep it’s focus on having a strong fight presence so to balance it we are removing 1 set of Regeneration Seek Orbs. This greatly reduces it’s healing potential, so to balance out this change a bit and focus the kit more on it’s mobility, we are changing the Regeneration Seek Orbs to Rejuvenation which should help the kit play more aggressively.
- Rapid Bow Scrapper - Nerf Rapid Bow Scrapper is surprisingly the most powerful kit in the game according to win rate data. We very much want to keep it’s main playstyle, providing great ranged pressure with it’s Quick Change 2 crossbow. Reducing the number of Bright Harming Detector Bottles from 2 to 1 should help create more of an opening for attackers to engage in melee range.
- Battle Baller - Nerf This kit is over performing slightly, so to help balance it out a bit were reducing its arrow count by 4.
- Power Trickster - Nerf This kit is over performing slightly, so to help balance it out and focus it’s strengths on its power we are removing an Invisibility Spark but increasing its arrow count by 2.
- Multishot Sharpshooter - Nerf This kit is over performing slightly, so to help balance it out a bit we are reducing its arrow count by 2. Six arrows isn’t much but this kit should easily be able to collect ammo from the ground using ranged pressure from their multishot crossbow.
- Multishot Trickster - Nerf This kit is over performing slightly, so to help balance it out a bit were reducing its arrow count by 2. Again like the Multishot Sharpshooter 6 arrows isn’t much but this kit should easily be able to collect ammo from the ground using ranged pressure from their multishot crossbow.
- Oportune Sharpshooter - Adjust This kit according to win rates has been slightly underperforming, however the combo of heavy crossbow and axe attacks is clearly very powerful totaling 9.5 hearts of damage in a perfect combo. We are removing this combo by swapping the melee weapon to a dagger and increasing its arrow count, this will help the kit fit more into the long range tag. These changes reduce the power of the kit overall so to help further balance the kit we have also given an extra speed spark.
- Battle Scrapper - Adjust Changing the regeneration spark to absorption to make the kit more specialized and give more room for an future Scrapper kit. As well Absorption Sparks will be receiving a small buff to how long they last so they are more helpful.
- Blind Baller - Adjust This kit is being adjusted slightly to be more close ranged focused, to do this we are swapping the dagger for a sword but reduce it’s arrow count by 2.
Class adjustments
- Ranger max projectile speed increased from 30% to 45%.
- Sharpshooter left click projectile speed increased from 30% to 45%.
We are adjusting the projectile speed to be a bit faster so that these classes strengths are more defined and fun to use. We will keep an eye on how this affects win rate and adjust accordingly.
Spectre and Gadgeteer will be getting some class changes in an upcoming patch to help balance the classes more.
Item adjustments
Absorption items have had their durations increased:
- Timed orb from 12s to 20s.
- Detector Bottle from 10s to 17s.
- Quick Timed Orb from 10s to 17s.
- Splash Potion from 7s to 12s.
- Orb from 4s to 8s.
- Seek Orb from 2s to 4s (per orb).
- Spark from 4s to 8s.
- Potion from 30s to 45s.
These items are currently quite uncommon and mainly obtained by Gadgeteer crafting, but may be more common in future kits.
Temporary return of old Sus Stu & Co. shops
In Patch 0.30.0, we expanded the inventory of Sus Stu & Co., and changed the blueprints in these shops to cost Cosmetic Cores instead of Cosmetic Crates. Some players who were saving up crates were then unable to use the crates they’d been saving, so we’ve brought back the old shops temporarily (located right next to the current shops) for players to use once they save up the remaining crates they need.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed issue where bows and crossbow charge would get interrupted randomly.
