Patch 0.22.0 was a major patch, which brought the first persistent gamemode to MCC Island: Fishing. It also brought numerous Quality Of Life improvements.

Big Changes
- New background music system!
- There is a new setting at the top of the settings menu to enable Background Music.
- When enabled a second resource pack (20 MB) gets downloaded and applied. If an error occurs while loading this pack the setting is automatically disabled.
- Includes 4 hub music tracks which are cycled between while in the main hub or while fishing.
- Includes a new exclusive track for Dynaball.
- The lowest supported Minecraft version has been raised to 1.20.3.
- Clients on 1.20.0 and 1.20.1 can no longer connect.
- Clients running 1.20.3, 1.20.4, 1.20.5 and 1.20.6 will now receive warnings asking them to update.
- The recommended version is now 1.21.4.
- Re-queue timeouts have been changed, this is the waiting time after leaving a queue before you can re-queue.
- Instead of having to wait 10 seconds before you can re-queue you can now re-queue after 1 second.
- You can no longer avoid the timeout by queuing for a different game.
- Repeatedly leaving the same game’s queue will increase the timeout up to 2 minutes (only for that game).
- Plobbies can now re-queue after 3 seconds.
- There is now always a 1 second penalty between re-queuing different queues.
- The amount of XP PKW Dojo runs give has been increased, along with the cap on runs per course per week. Truly the update for solo content! The new values are as follows:
- Standard: 150 First Time XP, 50 Repeat XP, Cap of 20
- Advanced: 300 First Time XP, 100 Repeat XP, Cap of 10
- Expert: 600 First Time XP, 200 Repeat XP, Cap of 10
- Upon finishing a dojo run, it now tells you if that run was the final one before reaching the cap, and that your next run of that type on that course won’t earn you XP.
Small Changes
- Fishing Rods in games show your equipped fishing rod cosmetic.
- We’ve finally fixed up some of the various “bloops” around the Island, so keep an eye out (or an ear out?) for some new sounds!
- Summoned mobs in games have been updated (mobs spawned from spawn eggs or placed spawners).
- They no longer attack players on the same team as their owner.
- They now show a small name tag with the icon of their owner’s team.
- Can now be damaged properly by orbs following the same rules as teammates.
- Can still damage you if you get in the way, they just won’t target you.
- Are now damaged by the border in Sky Battle.
- We've updated the styling on various in-game item descriptions in games. They now factor in the extra damage from enchantments when showing how much damage is dealt.
- Various changes have been made to plobbies:
- Non-general plobby settings can no longer be modified while in queue. Changes made during the queue or while playing the game only apply to the next game.
- General plobby settings always apply, so they can still be edited.
- Modify Item Tier plobby setting can now go up to +5 and will add enchantments to items when they are above the maximum item tier.
- Dynaball next projectile indicator is now hidden if you have no projectiles.
- Battle Box matches now end after 15 seconds if the point isn’t fully captured but a team has point control and the enemy team is eliminated. This prevents excessive stalling.
- Removed the barriers on the central building on Battle Box: Water Mill to avoid blocking long-range projectiles
- Improved nearby player hiding in Parkour Warrior so it should more accurately hide players when you approach an obstacle.
- Reduced the required player count of various games. This means that, for example, RSR games will no longer be cancelled if just one player quits.
- We’ve rewritten the behind-the-scenes code for our chat system. Although there are no big changes to how chatting on MCC Island works, the following smaller changes have been made:
- The preset emotes (e.g. /e hug) have been removed. You can still use custom emotes with /e.
- Mods that alter chat signing (e.g. NoChatReports) may cause errors or kick you from the server when joining or chatting. However, these mods are against the rules anyway, so you shouldn’t be using them regardless!
- These backend changes have not introduced chat signing and reporting to MCC Island, but are part of a larger plan to eventually introduce it to the network, as has been the case since they were introduced by Mojang.
- We’ve rebalanced the time it takes for statistic leaderboard to refresh, the new times are as follows:
- Daily remains at 5 minutes.
- Weekly is down from 1 hour to 10 minutes.
- Monthly is down from 1 hour to 15 minutes.
- Yearly and Lifetime are down from 2 hours to 20 minutes
- The level up animation is back, now for your Crown Level!
- Blueprints now show how many times the cosmetic has been scavenged.
