Twilight Trials

From MCC Island Wiki

Twilight Trials was a limited time team game focused around PvE.
It was introduced in 0.33.0 as a part of the Twilight Bastion event.

Gameplay

The objective of Twilight Trials is to eliminate as many monsters as possible. These monsters spawn in waves (rounds) up to the 30th wave, when the game ends in victory. Only one team of 4 is playing one game of Twilight Trials, meaning there are no opposing teams to compete with. If all players are downed in any wave, the game ends in a loss. If a player is downed, one of their teammates can revive them withing 20 seconds by sneaking around the downed person until the revival happens. If a player is not revived, they will be eliminated for that wave and will respawn at the start of the next wave. The map has multiple rooms, with each room and certain shortcuts becoming available slowly throughout the game along specific waves.

At the start of the game, each player can choose one of the following classes, with the following passive abilities and items:

Kill Shot

At the start of each wave players receive an item based on their class. However, if the player has received three items without using them, they will not be given another one until they use one. This system does not take into consideration items that have been purchased from shops around the map. These items are:

  • Scrapper: Spark of Strength
  • Spectre: Spark of Speed
  • Sharpshooter: Quick Timed Orb of Bright Harming
  • Healer: Seek Orbs of Regeneration
  • Ranger: Quick Timed Orb of Slowness

Each class also has their special ability (see the last column in the table above) which can be activated by using the item or by throwing any of the items in the player's inventory. These abilities can also be upgraded at one of the shops. Here is a table of them:

Monsters

During waves, monsters usually spawn in clusters near the players. In specific waves, specific amount of monsters will spawn, but not all at the start of the wave, see the max values in the table above to see in which wave how many monsters of the same time can exist at once. When only a few monsters remain in a wave and a substantial amount has passed since the start of the wave, monsters start glowing in a red colour. When defeated, monsters give gold to the players who attacked it. The table below shows each monster, their health and the maximum gold they give out. Gold is given out to all players who attacked the monster, distributed based on the percentage of the damage dealt by players, rounded. Below is a table of all monsters:

Rooms & Shops

Rooms and shortcuts can be unlocked with one emerald. Shortcuts can only be bought for a specific room once the room itself has been bought. Shops can be found throughout the map, where players can buy items, equipment or modifiers with gold. Some shops may show different items for players based on their class. Below is an interactive map with all rooms, doors, shortcuts and shops marked:
