Patch 0.8.4

0.8.4 was a major patch, which brought Quest Spirit and many economy changes.

Patch Notes

Quest Spirit and the Spirit Shop

All quest scrolls now give “Quest Spirit”, a new material type, when completed. The higher the rarity of the quest, the more spirit it gives! There are 5 tiers of spirit; Raw, Refined, Strong, Pure, and Absolute.

Spirit can be combined upwards at a 5:1 rate through Fusion Forging. (Without needing any binding gel!) Spirit can also be spent on useful consumable items at the new Spirit Shop, located in the Booster Bazaar!

Any Quest Scrolls activated before this patch went live will NOT have these rewards! However, you can reroll them and they will.

New Quest Scroll Types and Changes

Two new types of Quest Scrolls have been added;

Treasure Quest Scrolls have also had their Faction XP rewards boosted by about 1.5x to be in parity with the recent increase to their required tasks.

Additionally, all Quest Tasks have been rebalanced (All currently active quests are unaffected, and will still use the old values, but rerolling will use the new values!)

  • Made the tasks of common and uncommon quests more consistently time based instead of skill based.
  • Made the tasks of epic and legendary more consistently skill based instead of time based.
  • Rebalanced several tasks of quests to make them easier.

New Splinters Blueprint Shop

A new shop has appeared in Splinters Workshop with some blueprints for new unique cosmetics for sale. There is also a free blueprint and free bundle of crafting materials in this shop, aimed to help newer players get introduced into the crafting system.

The (highly missed) camera accessory has now made its return and is now available from this shop.

Chroma Pack Blueprint Changes

You will no longer receive any Chroma Pack Blueprints from Crates or any other sources (other than one that happens to be on the Battlepass this season). Going forward, they will no longer be obtainable.

Instead, Chroma Packs are crafted through Fusion Forging, and their recipes are slightly more expensive because of this. This should make obtaining Chroma Packs much easier, assuming you have the required components and silver!

Your old Chroma Pack Blueprints are still untouched and fully useable, you just won't get any more of them. Crates have also been adjusted slightly to only give completed Chroma Packs in place of when they would have given Chroma Pack Blueprints.

Crate Tuner Forging Changes

Crate Tuners can no longer be combined upwards, and are instead now crafted with their corresponding tier of "Tuner Shards", which are a new component type ranging from common to legendary in rarity.

Tuner Shards can now be found in Material Pouches and also from scavenging cosmetics. New fusion recipes are now available, allowing Tuner Shards can be combined upwards in rarity at a 2:1 rate.

Material Pouch Changes

Material Pouches have been rebalanced to give more binding gel, especially from common and uncommon pouches.

All basic materials are now automatically revealed when they appear in pouches and don't have to be clicked. All special materials (such as binding gel and power shards) will now require a click to reveal.

Scavenging Changes

Basic materials (such as “worn cloth”, “silky satin”, etc.) are now scavengable for silver, and also have a chance to give binding gel. The binding gel will match the rarity of the material scavenged or be one rarity lower. So, if you find yourself having too many of one specific type of material, scavenge it off for silver and a chance to get some binding gel!

Scavenged cosmetics will now have a chance to give “Tuner Shards” of corresponding rarity to the cosmetic upon being scavenged. They will no longer give Crate Tuners, but Tuner Shards will come from these much more commonly than tuners did.

Treasure Chests Rebalancing

Treasure Chests have always been adjusted to always give Material Pouches, Quest Scrolls, AND other items when you open them, so you get a more consistent variety instead of seeming to only really get scrolls and pouches.

Most Treasure Chests have roughly the same value as before, but you'll get many more items from each chest. Golden Treasure Chests however have had their value increased to be much more obviously valuable over Silver Treasure Chests.

The new types of Quest Scrolls have also been added to all Treasure Chests.

Shop Changes

Additional Changes and Fixes

  • The “Mega Treasure Key” now also requires a “Rare Key Shard
  • We’ve tweaked how our Game Passes are loaded, tracked and displayed on servers, meaning it’s now much snapper to open and look around the menu. This will also further reduce any remaining backlog in processing statistics for Game Passes.
  • Our matchmaking backend has had a bunch of care and attention to eliminate any oversized teams in games and reduce the number of failed matchmaking teleports where you’re stuck with a black screen without being dragged into a game.
  • Fixed the Sky Battle Top Ten statistic not being tracked correctly for quests and tasks.
  • Fixed issue where Wall King Game Pass wasn't correctly counting dodged walls.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause users to complete Parkour Warrior courses faster if the server was lagging slightly.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause the medals in the sidebar not to update when you complete a run that awarded you with more medals.
  • Removed the messages sent in TGTTOS when you reach max karma, as it's pretty obvious without them!
