The Mailbox, introduced in Patch 0.24.0, is a menu within the Journal where players can receive messages with enclosed items.
These messages often contain important information after patches and issues, and may therefore be used to provide compensation or refunds. It is additionally used for the Grand Auction to return coins when a player is outbid, or to reward the player with the cosmetics they have won if they had the highest bid.

As mentioned in the Season 5 launch articles, all materials spent on Milestone Ferk Upgrades, Quest Slots, and Crafting Slots, as well as previously equipped quest scrolls, will be fully and automatically refunded to you via your mailbox within a few days. This also includes premium Game Pass items and the bonus for those who have completed the Game Passes.
Whilst you're waiting for those messages to pop into your mailbox, here's some bonus economy items to get you started!
Season 5 has removed Silver. You can read more about this change on the forums, but this package contains an amount of coins equal to the value of the silver you had before the update.

Material Dust Refund
Season 5 has replaced Material Dust with Material Goop. You can read more about this change on the forums, but this package contains an amount of goop equal to the value of the dust you had before the update.
Due to a bug in the mailbox system, the "MCC+ Token Package" message on July 11th, 2025 was mistakenly sent to all playersand was duplicated five times.
In an effort to revert the mistakes, another bug resulted in gems being removed in excess from every player that logged on since 0.24.0. As such, the developers were ultimately forced to shutdown the server in order to rollback the database to the moment before the erroneous messages were sent out.
This mistake also occurred at the same time as the 'Season 5 release' marketing communications.
Non-auction related mailbox messages now have a generic mail item instead of the contained package. We’re hoping this will encourage people to read the messages rather than spam claiming, as the messages contain important information!
