(Redirected from Polished Pearl)
Pearls are a rare item that can be caught while Fishing on any island. There are three types of pearls, with the higher rarity pearls being increasingly rarer.

Usage

Pearl Cost
10x Rough 1x Polished
1x Polished 10x Rough
10x Polished 1x Pristine
1x Pristine 10x Polished

Obtainment

  • Pearls can be caught whilst fishing on any fishing island or from Crab Pots, with the following base chances:
Pearl Chance
Rough 94.9%
Polished 5%
Pristine 0.1%
  • The rarity and number of Pearls caught is based on the player's Glimmering Hook and Pearl Magnet perk points.
  • Pearls have a base catch rate of 5%. This chance can be increased by several factors:
    • Glimmering Winds (+5%)
    • Fishing in a Fishing Spot with the Pearl Chance buff (+5%)
    • Levelling up the Pearl Chance perk (up to +5%)
    • Activating the Unstable Overclock and setting it to Pearl Chance (up to +5%)
    • Using a A.N.G.L.R. Pearl Lure or A.N.G.L.R. Pearl Ultralure (+100%)

Strategies

  • Catching as many Pearls as possible is necessary for levelling up your Fishing Perks at the high levels. There are 2 main strategies for pearl grinding:
    • Ultraluring - using the following augments and fishing on islands with Glimmering Tide and at spots with high Glimmering Hook and Pearl Magnet buffs: . This is the generally the better strategy so long as you have the augments to support it.
    • Grotto Maxing - getting as many grottos as possible to fish at spots with 100% Pearl Chance, which is cheaper on the augments side but also slower. Your augments should look something like this: , and then during Grottos switching the Speedy Rods to Stable Rods. You can also swap out one of the Speedy Rods for a A.N.G.L.R. Pearl Ultralure for pearl gains outside of grottos, if you have too many.[1]
  • Remember that Glimmering Winds only buff the chance to obtain a Pearl, so they aren't necessary when using an ultralure!
  • If you're low on Pearl Magnets, it can be worth scavenging Glimmering Hooks, Graceful Rods and Glimmering Pots for spirits to buy more augments with.
